Metro Arguably the best loved rock venue in town. Everybody who's anybody probably has played here. Just down the street from Wrigley Field.
Nevin's Live Located north of Chicago in Evanston. Smaller music venue/bar adjacent to restaurant.
The Old Town School Of Folk Music The lovely 350 seat venue is located inside the same building where classes are taught on all types of folk music. They feature folk influenced and roots rock acts.
Park West Nightclub atmosphere with varying seating/standing arrangements depending on the act. Booth tables are reserved.
Riviera Theatre Large former movie palace, holds around 2500. General admission seating in the balcony and standing on the floor.

Schuba's Housed in a historic Schlitz Brewery building, Schuba's Tavern music room is a great place to catch national acts. Generally known for it's booking of roots rock and alt-country acts but that's not the total story.
Subterranean Located in the Bucktown/Wicker Park area in a building that housed a brothel in the '20s. National and local acts.
Tweeter Center Gigantic (like an airplane hanger) outdoor venue. Reserved seat Pavilion is covered. Lawn behind is every man for himself. Where the big acts play in the summer.
United Center Where the big acts play in the winter, spring and fall. Home of the Bulls and the Blackhawks. Big shed.
